The University of Saskatchewan Huskie wrestling team is happy to be home.

Saturday's annual Huskie Open features University of Saskatchewan wrestlers competing against conference teams from the University of Calgary, University of Regina, University of Alberta and the University of Fraser Valley Cascades. Club teams will also participate in the tournament.

More than 100 athletes are expected to compete in the 11 men's weight classes and 10 women's weight classes at the event.

New to the weekend this year is a dual with the Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas on Friday night. The dual format mirrors the Canada West championship format in which each weight class competes after each other in succession.

The dual will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, while the Huskie Open begins at 9:30 a.m. with the women's competition followed by the men at 12:30 p.m. The dual and Huskie Open are in the Education Gym.

Note: Huskie Athletics will also honour the 2016-17 Canada West women's wrestling champion squad between the men's and women's volleyball matches Saturday with a banner unveiling.
