The No. 5 ranked University of Calgary Dinos completed of sweep of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies with a straight set 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 22-15) win Saturday night on Ron & Jane Graham Court at the PAC.

With the win, the Dinos improve to 16-4 and keep pace with the top of the Canada West women's volleyball standings. Saskatchewan drops to 6-14 and are losing traction in the playoff race. The top seven earn postseason life.

The Huskies played close with the Dinos in the first set allowing Calgary to go ahead by no more than three points. But an attack that landed out of bounds gave the Dinos a 25-21 win.

Tied at 17, Calgary scored three straight points to take the largest led in the game. Saskatchewan answered and held the Dinos to match point four times before Hannah Tanasichuk ended the set 25-23.

Close until the middle of the deciding set, Calgary took a large 16-11 lead and never looked back. The Dinos won 25-15.

Kate Pexman led the Dinos with 16 kills on the night, while rookie Tanasichuk added another 14. Brianna Solberg led the Dinos on defence with 13 digs and Kennedy Snape added another 12.

Marguerite Ferguson led the Huskies with 10 kills, while Emily Humbert added another nine from the middle. Jennifer Hueser and Emmalyn Copping each tallied eight digs in the match.

The Dinos return home to host the Regina Cougars next weekend, while the Huskies hit to road to face the Mount Royal Cougars.
