  3. Saskatchewan finished 3rd in the Canada West in 2016 and competed at the national championship for the first time in history.

Thompson Rivers opened the 2017 Canada West season 0-2 after a 3-0 loss to the UNBC Timberwolves and a 7-2 loss to the MacEwan Griffins.

UBC Okanagan opened the 2017 Canada West season 0-2 after a 3-0 loss to the MacEwan Griffins and a 2-1 loss to the UNBC Timberwolves.
