Huskie Athlete of the Week (March 12, 2018):

University of Saskatchewan forward Summer Masikewich helped the Huskies to  a silver medal at the U SPORTS Final 8 tallying 51 points and 32 rebounds in the three games at the tournament. 

The Arts & Science student from Calgary tallied a double-double in Thursday’s 72-67 win over the Acadia Axewomen in the quarter-final. She added seven points and six rebounds in the 74-71 semifinal win over the Regina Cougars and another 19 points and 12 rebounds in the 69-48 loss to the Carleton Ravens in the final.

Masikewich was named Player of the Game for the Huskies in both the quarter-final and final. She was also named a tournament all-star. 

This was Saskatchewan’s fifth straight trip to the national championship and second time in the tournament final in three years.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (February 19, 2018):

University of Saskatchewan forward Summer Masikewich helped the Huskies to a quarter-final series win over the University of Winnipeg Wesmen with 47 points and 23 rebounds in the three games.

The Arts & Science student from Calgary tallied a double-double in Thursday's 76-58 win in Game 1 recording 19 points and 12 rebounds. She added 11 points and five rebounds in a 93-85 Game 2 loss, before scoring 17 points and six rebounds in Game 3's 97-64 win.

Masikewich and the reigning Canada West champion Huskies host the Trinity Western Spartans in a best-of-three semifinal series beginning February 22 at the PAC.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (October 30, 2017):

University of Saskatchewan forward Summer Masikewich helped the Huskies to  a perfect record to open the Canada West women’s basketball season recording 45 points and 19 rebounds. 

The Arts & Science student from Calgary tallied a double-double in Friday’s 83-52 win to open the season recording 18 points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes. A night later in a 101-56 win, the second year added another 27 points, nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in her 22 minutes. 

Masikewich and the reigning Canada West champion Huskies return to the court November 10-11 at home against the Thompson Rivers WolfPack.
