Huskies' Shooting Outshines Winnipeg

WINNIPEG - The No. 1 ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies drained 19 three pointers to pace them to a 90-48 victory over the University of Winnipeg Wesmen Friday evening at the Dr. David F. Anderson Gymnasium in Winnipeg.

Saskatchewan (13-0) finished the contest 19-of-32 (59%) from three point territory. The loss drops the Wesmen to 4-9.

Sabine Dukate led the Huskies with 19 points, including five-three pointers. Laura Dally added 18, going six-of nine from three point land. Kelsey Trulsrud had 14 points while Dalyce Emmerson had a double-double consisting of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Brittania Brown led the Wesmen with 14 points. Kerri Kuzbyt was next with 11. Faith Hezekiah led Winnipeg in rebounds with 11.

The Huskies had control in the early stages of the contest leading 28-12 after the opening quarter. Saskatchewan continued to put the pressure on the Wesmen in the second quarter, outscoring the home team 22-10 to carry a 50-22 lead into the halftime break.

Saskatchewan outscored the Wesmen 40-26 in the second half to make the final tally 90-48.

The two teams will meet up on Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 p.m. tip off scheduled.
