The Brainfreeze is back for its 10th year!
The Brainsport Brainfreeze is one of the primary sources of funding for the Huskie Cross-Country program at the University of Saskatchewan by funding its scholarships, team expenses, and the future of the program. Conceptualized in 2008 as one of the only winter road races in the province, the Brainfreeze is back for its 10th anniversary and bigger and better than ever before!
This year the race takes place on March 4, 2018 and features a 5km, 10km, and half marathon distances, as well as chip timing, which is new to the race this year. Participants can register online at www.brainsport.ca up until race slots are filled, and the race is close to filling up! Registration costs $80 for all distances.
The Brainfreeze starts at 10 am at Brainsport, 616 10th Street East. The course goes down the Broadway Bridge and Meewasin Trail. The 5km turnaround point is in the parking lot of the old Mendel Art Gallery, and the 10km turnaround point is under the Circle Drive North Bridge. The half marathon turnaround is behind the water treatment center down the Meewasin Trail.
Race packages can be picked up at Brainsport (616 10th Street E) on Saturday, March 2nd from 12-5 pm. Late registration will be accepted up until 5 pm on March 2nd, or until the race is filled up. There will be no race package pickup on race day.
