Preparation has begun for the 2017 Canada West men's soccer season for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
Fall training camp begins today on Field 7 in PotashCorp Park. The camp will feature 13 returning athletes and 10 first-year players.
All fans, supporters and alumni are invited to attend any of the practices during the camp that runs August 8 to August 25.
"We have a young group of players who are excited to continue and build on the Huskie soccer tradition," said head coach Bryce Chapman. "Camp will be process where we need to bring this group together collectively, learn from each other and start to find our identity."
The Huskies begin the Canada West season on August 26-27 at home against the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Field 7 in PotashCorp Park.
Saskatchewan travels to Edmonton to meet the MacEwan Griffins and Alberta Golden Bears on September 2-3, before returning home to host the Mount Royal Cougars and Calgary Dinos on September 7 and 9.
The Huskies are also home on September 23 versus the Victoria Vikes, September 24 against the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, September 28against the Griffins and close out the home schedule on October 1 against the Golden Bears. The October 1 match features the Bateman Cup, a celebration to honour the history of men's soccer at the University of Saskatchewan.
