SASKATOON – University of Saskatchewan's Carson Stadnyk scored the game winning goal with 24 seconds left in Game 3 of a Canada West semifinal to lift the Huskies 3-1 over the University of Calgary Dinos Saturday night in Rutherford Rink.

Tied from the 6:38 mark of the third period, the second year forward received a pass from Jesse Forsberg at the blue line and beat Jordan Papirny with a backhand shot to his glove side to give Saskatchewan the lead.  Levi Cable added the empty net goal with three seconds remaining.

With the win, the Huskies take the best-of-three semifinal series 2-1 and advance to the Canada West final next weekend for the third straight season. The win also books a trip to the University Cup hosted by the UNB Varsity Reds in Fredericton, N.B.

The Huskies won Thursday's Game 1, 6-4 and the Dinos won Game 2 Friday 2-1.

Alex Forsberg gave Saskatchewan an early lead with a goal at 2:52 in the first period. A tic-tac-toe play from behind the net ended with Forsberg beating Jordan Papirny over the left pad.

Calgary evened the score at 6:38 in the third period when Logan Fisher beat Huskies' netminder Taran Kozun on a blocker side high shot after a scramble in front of the net.

Kozun made 23 saves in the game for the Huskies, while Papirny stopped 29 at the other end of the ice for the Dinos.

The Huskies travel to Edmonton to meet the Alberta Golden Bears in the best of three Canada West Final starting March 2.
