Men's Basketball Ron & Jane Graham Shootout Day 2

SASKATOON – The UBC Thunderbirds and OUA Western University Mustangs were winners on Day 2 of the 19th annual Ron & Jane Graham Men's Basketball Shootout Friday night at the PAC.

The Mustangs defeated the Mount Royal Cougars 71-68 in Game 1, while the T-Birds defeated the host-University of Saskatchewan Huskies 92-72 in Game 2. 

UBC now leads the tournament with a 2-0 record, while Western and the Huskies are 1-1. The Cougars are 0-2.

Eriq Jenkins led the Mustangs in the win recording 15 points, while Omar Shiddo added another 11. Marko Kovac chipped in with 10 points and led Western with nine rebounds.  Josh Ross had a double-double for the Cougars with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Glen Yang scored another 15 points for Mount Royal and John Hegwood added another 10.

UBC's Phil Jalalpoor was impressive in the T-Birds win scoring 41 points and nine rebounds. Luka Zaharijevic chipped in with a double-double at 18 points and 13 rebounds. Lawrence Moore led the Huskies in the game scoring 25 points, while Addison Dewar added another 15 points and Alex Unruh scored 14. Moore and Unruh also nabbed six rebounds each. 

On Day 3, the Thunderbirds will play the Cougars at 1 p.m., and the Huskies will meet Mustangs at 3 p.m.
