Huskie Athlete of the Week (September 6, 2016):

Third-year University of Saskatchewan Huskies’ kicker Sean Stenger was a perfect six for six on field goals in a 48-9 win over the Alberta Golden Bears on Friday night.

The Engineering student connected on field goals of 33, 26, 37, 24, 16 and 22 yards on the night. Stenger set a new Huskie single season record with 22 made field goals in 2016, needing just 26 attempts to accomplish the feat.

It was the second time this season that the Saskatoon, Sask. product has been successful on six field goals. Stenger opened the season with a six field goal performance in a win over the Regina Rams. 

Huskie Athlete of the Week (October 28, 2016):

Third-year kicker Sean Stenger recorded the game-tying and game-winning field goals in a 41-38 overtime win over provincial rival the Regina Rams on September 2.

The Engineering student’s 10-yard field goal in the second overtime sealed the victory in the first game of the Canada West season for both teams. It was the second clutch field goal for Stenger on the night after he already sent the game to overtime with a field goal as regulation time expired. He also hit from 35-, 40-, 27-, 10-yards in the game. He added two rouge points to tally 23 of the 41 scored by his team in the game. 

Stenger also recorded 245 punt yards and 212 yards on kickoffs in the game.
